MGP Pieces
Ebola Short Story:
Reflection:
Creating my multi-genre project was definitely a struggle, but it was not too much of a stress compared to the research blog. First starting out, I had no clue what I wanted to create for my pieces. I did not want my pieces to be simple, but I did not want to create something that is over the top. (Nobody got time for that!) The genre analyzing practices where we had to fill in the categories of content, structure, format, language and sentences at the start of this project were a bit confusing at first because many of those categories were very similar to each other, but I got the gist of it after a while. During this project time, I created three different pieces which can be shown above. A short story, a poster and a board game. I think the one that took the longest to create was the short story because I am not the best writer around. Also, it had to have many details to make sure the audience understood and felt the main characters situation. That was probably the hardest part about creating the short story. My poster was probably the easiest to create because I basically just had to slap some information with pictures on a poster board. Of course, I had to make it look neat and organized, so that the audience would actually read it. I created the poster with large fonts and short information because posters are meant to give an overview, not the entire subject. That would bore the audience. Last, the piece I am most proud of, is the game board. Even though it did not take the longest time to create, I just like the fact that it is something that people could interact and have fun with it. That's the purpose of board games, which I think I accomplished very well. Through these pieces, I wanted to show that Ebola is a very fatal disease, but it should be nothing to worry about if you take the correct precautions. I think I did a good job on the "it's a fatal disease" part, but I needed to add more of how it should be nothing to worry about. It really is nothing to be worried about, unless you come in contact with the fluids of other people. On that note... that ends my reflection on my multi-genre project.
